I first gained interest in photography ten years ago, at the age of fourteen, when I discovered image editing software and when I consequently started experimenting with photomanipulation. Since then I graduated from University with a degree in Visual Arts, specializing in Photography, Video Art, and Digital Image Processing. I have been fortunate enough to receive a number of reputable accolades along the way, such as 'Le Grand Prix' in Fotomaraton '06 organized by l'Institut Français de Iaşi, being a finalist in ASA Talent's Schiet ASA Campaign, and numerous features in magazines around the world.
I approach my images with a timeless aesthetic and I am deeply inspired by the sensuous imagery of film noir and Romanticism. Even though the narrative of my work frequently totters on the melancholic, I always look for beauty in my photography. My artistic background is rooted in self-portraiture, but throughout the years I have experimented with many different genres, collage, conceptual photography and beauty photography quickly becoming some of my favorites.
In 2011, I established an online art magazine called Qaterpillar Magazine where, along with collaborators from all over the world, I promote and discuss the nature and importance of beauty in contemporary art. You can leaf through the issues here.
In 2012 I started a new life and my own business in the Netherlands where I hope my passion for this art will bloom into something wonderful.
